Sentry Lift® HMPE Web Slings

Sentry Lift® slings are manufactured using HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) fibers, delivering exceptional performance and durability in demanding lifting applications.

Using internationally recognized testing methods, Sentry Lift® webbing demonstrated abrasion resistance approximately 24 times greater than conventional polyester and nylon webbing, along with cut resistance up to 7 times higher. In addition, Sentry Lift® HMPE webbing exhibits 80% lower elongation under load and tensile strength ratings exceeding 15,000 lbs. per inch.

The advanced materials and specialized weaving processes used in the production of Sentry Lift® slings result in a higher initial cost compared to similarly sized nylon or polyester slings. However, the significantly longer service life, increased strength, and enhanced durability provide a superior long-term value compared to repeatedly replacing worn or damaged conventional slings.

The molecular structure of HMPE fiber functions similarly to chainmail, distributing force across overlapping fiber structures to help dissipate stress throughout the webbing surface. This unique construction enhances wear resistance and overall sling durability. While Sentry Lift® HMPE webbing provides substantially improved resistance to wear and damage compared to traditional materials, no sling can eliminate all risk of damage. Proper rigging practices, operator training, and adherence to all applicable regulations and usage guidelines remain essential.

Because Sentry Lift® HMPE webbing offers substantially higher tensile strength, users can choose between achieving greater capacity within the same sling dimensions or utilizing a smaller, lighter sling with comparable strength ratings. As illustrated in the accompanying charts, both options can deliver meaningful cost savings when evaluated on a dollars-per-WLL basis, while also providing increased service life and operational efficiency.

Endless Slings

Endless slings are a versatile sling as connection and load contact points can be rotated. Additionally, during use the sling body can be spread apart to span the applied contact force over a wider area of the load to minimize contact pressure. For use in choker, vertical and basket hitches. Sling ends can be tapered upon request.

Eye & Eye Slings

Sentry Lift® Eye & Eye slings offer improved wear characteristics, allowing a smaller contact profile, since there isn't the need for additional abrasion protection at the eyes. Most nylon and/or polyester slings exhibit excessive abrasion from wear at the connection points, however with Sentry Lift® slings users are able to maximize the usable life of their slings without sacrificing connection ergonomics.

Eye and Eye slings can be used in choker, vertical and basket hitches. Slings with Half Twist (Type 4) eyes are furnished unless Flat (Type 3) eyes are specified. Tapered eyes are automatically furnished on slings 2 inches wide and over to provide a proper relationship between the sling and the rigging hardware. es with no taper are available upon request.
